Missouri state legislators eliminated the state-run presidential primary earlier this year, placing the new processes in the hands of the parties. While Republicans will be holding CAUCASES, Democrats have been busy shaping a delegate selection process to be as inclusive and democratic as possible.

Tori Schafer, Deputy Director of Policy and Campaigns for ACLU-MO, and Maggie Olivia of Abortion Action Missouri will join us to discuss the campaign to get reproductive rights on the ballot in 2024. Will abortion be on the ballot? Or will the MO AG continue to hold the initiative process hostage with strongarm tactics? What can we do to protect democracy and reproductive rights in this state?

The campaign to rededicate this park - and ongoing efforts to shape its future - speak to many current debates over how to recover and reclaim historic sites in the name of inclusivity.

Hadley Democrats May Meeting - CANCELLED

Better Together has withdrawn their proposal and will not be sending a representative to this event. With half of our speakers having cancelled, we are postponing the discussion until a future date when other possible proposals emerge, either from Better Together or from the Board of Freeholders, should it convene. We thank you for your interest in Hadley Township Democratic Club events and hope to see you at our June meeting.

We will receive a legislative update from our representatives in the Missouri House, as well as updates from the Missouri Democratic Party.

Our featured speaker for March will be PROMO Executive Director Steph Perkins, who will be speaking about LGBTQIA+ rights and advocacy in Missouri, with a specific focus on transgender rights and issues.
With the Trump administration specifically targeting the trans community through military bans and other policies, it is important to for us to stand up against discrimination on the state and federal level!

Hadley Democrats February Meeting - Officer Elections

It's that time again. Officer Elections are for two year terms per the bylaws change in 2017. This team of officers comprising the Executive Board alongside our 2 elected Committeepersons will guide the club through the 2020 elections.

In order to run as an officer and/or vote in the election you must 1) Live in Hadley Township and 2) Have been a dues-paid member since January 10. 

For all of the details, including how to announce a run for an officer position, please visit our Running for Office page on our website.

You are not required to announce your candidacy beforehand and can be nominated or nominate yourself the night of, but we will send out an email early next week with information from anyone who has announced via the Google Form on the Running for Office page. If you would like to be included in that email, please submit by 11:59 pm on Monday, February 4.
